            Day 8 -Spring {Pre-ovulatory Phase} Full Moon

Join me #28daywelcomebackyourcycleawarenesschallenge

This 28 day challenge was born from a place of welcoming back the whole month of a woman's cycle. Often, it's just the time of menstruation that we give any consideration to our cycle. Our complete cycle is the inner compass to our bodies needs, and a guide to living a more balanced, meaningful connected life.

Day 8 - Spring {Pre-ovulatory phase}

Full Moon 100%

Follicular Stage

Oestrogen is high

Reflective Dynamic

As we enter the full moon phase I am looking forward to welcoming in the new month. Today and the next two days are incredibly important within my moon/menstruation cycle. Over three days each month I utilise all that has been offered to us through the moon combined with my own practise.

On a normal month the full moon would be my time to ovulate, however my menstruation was late by 11 days, so my cycle has changed. I am going to continue with my normal routine and give myself a couple of months to realign with the moon again, if this does not happen I will welcome in my new cycle and thank my body for doing what it is instinctively meant to do.

The moon has four primary phases: Waxing, Full, Waning, and New. A female's cycle is also broken into four phases; Menstrual, Pre-ovulatory, Ovulatory, Premenstrual.  Each phase could be associated with the energy of the moon, however each woman's cycle is different, personally I don't believe we should be dictating the right time to menstruate. Human evolution has taken us on a journey, it would be easy reflect on the past, feeling as though we have to maintain tribal patterns/history. We no longer live connected to each other in that way... however times are changing and perhaps this connection is making it's way back? As long as you are connecting to yourself and recognising your own seasons and strengths at each phase, your body will instinctively know what to do. Don't compeat, be in allowance.

Shakti Kundalini

Kundalini is the divine feminine energy located at the base of the spine, in the muladhara. It is represented by the coiled snake that once awakens moves up the body, it is our life force. It has been with us since birth and potentially could lie dormant unless activated. It is our inner fire.

Full moon and ovulation is the time of my cycle that I release this energy, to carry me through the entire cycle.

Instructions:.

  • In a seated position on the floor, move hands onto your knees and take a moment to get centered and grounded.
  • Move your hands into prayer and chant the mantra three times; Ong Namo, Guroo Dayv Namo.
  • Engage your perineum, located between your sex organ and anus. Inhale and clench, let go and exhale. Repeat.

  • Move back to seated with your arms in the air; pull down and let out a huge sigh, inhale and push your hands up. Repeat 10 times.
  • Move your hands to your shoulders and spin your torso back and forth in quick movements, inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.
  • Return to center and take a moment to be still. Scan your body for where you feel your Shakti energy.
Tapping into my feminine energy during the full moon and ovulation is away to keep my body activated and youthful.
